Will I be charged automatically after the free trial?
Yes. Your trial lasts 3 days. If you don’t cancel before it ends, your subscription will begin at $9.99/month and renew automatically each month until you cancel.
How does ZenCards differ from traditional flashcard applications?
Traditional studying, while massively important for me in college, cannot be used when you are occupied with everyday tasks, so you must dedicate specific study time in order to review with them which overloads your schedule. ZenCards is designed specifically to allow you to study during activities where traditional studying is impossible. We put an emphasis on the quality of this study time as well by giving you a range of different modes to use depending on your setting.
How do I cancel?
You’ll cancel from the “Manage billing” link (Stripe customer portal) when you are logged in on our website. If you have issues cancelling, reach out to us at support@zencardstudy.com and we will assist you.
I deleted my account. Will I be charged still?
Never. Deleting your account automatically cancels your subscription. You will not be charged again.
Can I study on my phone with the app version and on the website with one subscription?
Yes — one account, one subscription. Log in with the same email and your access follows your account.
What’s spaced repetition?
Spaced repetition is a study method where you review information at increasing intervals, timed around when you’re most likely to forget. It’s designed to maximize long-term retention while minimizing wasted review time.
Is ZenCards compatible with airpods and headphones?
Certainly.
I study best with active recall and speaking out loud, so is ZenCards compatible with active recall or does it simply play back the answers to your questions after a certain amount of time?
ZenCards was specifically designed to support active recall. There are two options for this, you can first say "pause study session" after hearing the question so that you can contemplate the question uninterrupted followed by saying "resume study session" at your own request to continue, or you can choose to mute the microphone by saying "mute microphone" which will allow you to pause the session for up to a minute.
What are “production effect” and “dual coding”?
In simple terms: memory is stronger when you engage multiple channels. Speaking responses out loud can reinforce recall (often referred to as the production effect), and combining visual + audio supports dual coding — giving your brain more “handles” to retrieve the info later.
Privacy & Data Use
Your privacy matters to us. ZenCards is designed to help you study more efficiently — not to collect or exploit your personal data.
What we do not access or store
- We do not have access to your password. Passwords are securely handled and hashed by our authentication provider.
- We do not read or monitor the content of your decks or flashcards. Your study materials belong to you.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
What information is required
To provide the ZenCards service, we store only what’s necessary: your email to sign up and your account/subscription status from stripe.
Payments
All payments are handled securely by Stripe. ZenCards never sees or stores your credit card details.
We send emails only for essential account-related purposes (verification, password resets, and billing notifications). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
